Soil: Plant in any moist, well draining soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure or compost when planting and avoid any site that gets waterlogged in winter.
Hardiness: Hardy (H4). May require some protection from very late frosts as this can damage any early emerging new shoots.
Habit: Grows upright, with tall ferny foliage in summer.
Eventual Spread: Spreads approx 60cm

Uses: Grilling, baking, barbecuing
Pest & Disease Resistance: Generally trouble free, but can be affected by slugs, snails and asparagus beetles. Encourage predators like birds and ladybirds. Late frosts can damage young shoots.

Pruning: After harvesting, allow the ferny foliage to grow over summer. Cut it down to the ground in autumn.
