Features wonderfully distinctive drooping branches and young stems that twist like corkscrews, creating spiraled, wavy leaves.
Provides fantastic winter interest with its bare, contorted branches, followed by vibrant, pollinator-friendly yellow catkins in spring.
A fully hardy and resilient choice, it thrives in all soil types and locations, including windy, exposed, and coastal areas.
The fascinating young branches are a favourite for floral arrangements, even developing roots when placed in water.

Habit: Grows in an upright, naturally slim form. Suitable for hedging.

Planting Time: Plant during the dormant season from October to March.
Spacing: For a dense hedge, plant in a double staggered row. We recommend 5 to 7 plants per metre.
Soil: Will tolerate less than perfect conditions but prefers well drained, loamy soils. If your soil is heavy or sandy, mix in some perlite or fine horticultural grit when planting to improve drainage.
Watering: Water establishing plants during dry spells for at least a year after planting.
