- Masses of tiny pink blossoms appear on bare stems in spring for a truly striking look.
- Broad, heart-shaped leaves emerge brownish-green, mature to deep green, and turn a lovely yellow in autumn.

- Easy to grow and low maintenance, this multi-stemmed plant can be grown as a small tree or a large shrub.
- Professionally pruned before shipping to encourage a strong, bushy shape for the best start in your garden.
- Supplied in an EcoPot™, using 70% less plastic to reduce root spiralling and ensure safe transit.
- Species: Redbud
- Flower Colour: Bright pink flowers in spring
- Flowering Season: Early spring, Late spring
- Foliage Colour: Green
- Features: Easy to grow, Autumn colour
- Position: Full sun to partial shade
- Soil Type: Any fertile, moist, well-drained soil
- Hardiness: H5 - This tree is frost hardy. It will survive cold UK winters (down to -15°C).
- Habit: A (typically short-trunked) tree with generously spreading branches.
- Eventual Spread: Spreads approximately 6-10m.
- Planting Time: Can be planted year-round. Plant at least 6m apart to allow for spreading. Prefers fertile, well draining soil. To improve drainage, consider mixing in some horticultural grit or perlite to the surrounding soil when planting.
- Watering: Water well roughly twice per week when your tree is newly planted. After a month or so, reduce this to a good soak once weekly (more may be needed in hotter, drier spells). Once the tree has established after a couple of years, or so, it will display good drought tolerance.
- Feeding: Apply a general, slow-release fertiliser (that's been designed for trees/shrubs) in the springtime.
- Pruning: Pruning group 1 - minimal pruning. Trim out any damaged, diseased or crossing branches in late winter, or early spring, to maintain a healthy framework.
- Pest & Disease: Generally has good resistance, but watch out for scale insects and infections like coral spot. To prevent coral spot and other similar diseases, always make sure to prune in dry weather. When you're pruning, cut branches through the collar (ring of slight swelling found at the base of branches). If die-back occurs after pruning, remove dead material as this helps avoid further infection. Scale insects suck the sap from plants and look like shell-like bumps on the stems and undersides of leaves - check your tree frequently for these from spring onwards.
