Species: Citrus
Features: Evergreen, Fragrant
Flowering Time: March to May, with fragrant white flowers most abundant in spring.
Harvest Time: December to April
Position: Full sun
Soil: Plant in loamy soil or a fertile, well-drained potting mix (citrus-specific mixes are ideal).
Hardiness: Tender (H2). Must be brought indoors for winter as it is only hardy down to 1°C.
Habit: A shrubby tree with a naturally bushy habit. Spreads approximately 2-4m.
Pest & Disease: Generally good resistance, but can be affected by aphids, spider mites, and scale insects.
Self Fertile: Yes

Planting Time: Plant outdoors from April to August. Space trees 3-4m apart to allow for their eventual spread.
Watering: Water regularly in spring and summer, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. In winter, allow the top layer of compost to dry out slightly between waterings.
Feeding: Orange trees are hungry feeders. Use a citrus-specific fertiliser weekly or fortnightly as per the product's instructions during the growing season.
Pruning: Requires minimal pruning. Simply thin out any overcrowded, dead, or damaged branches in February to maintain a neat and healthy shape.
Overwintering: As a tender plant, it must be moved indoors or to a protected greenhouse before the first frosts.
