Soil Type: Any well-drained, fertile soil. Will tolerate less than perfect conditions but prefers loamy soils.
Habit: Bushy, with several shoots forming a dense shrub.
Eventual Spread: Spreads approx 2-3m unless pruned.
Growth Rate: Fast growing, expect 40-60cm per year.

Planting Time: Can be planted from January to October. For bare roots, plant within a few days of arrival in spring, or store in a cool, dark spot for several weeks in winter.
Soil Preparation: If your soil is heavy or sandy, mix in some perlite or fine horticultural grit when planting to improve drainage.
Pruning: Prune an established hedge in late summer (August is ideal). A light trim can also be done in June if it’s looking messy.
Pests & Diseases: Good pest and disease resistance. Aphids and beech bark scale may be a problem. May be affected by coral spot.
