Habit: A vigorous deciduous, woody climber which can be trained up an arch, wall or tree, or over a porch or pergola.
Hardiness: Fully hardy even in the worst of UK winters.
Position: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Location: Ideal for an Arbour, Arch, Pergola, or Wall
Eventual Height: This variety can easily reach 9m in length and will need to be supported or trained up a structure.
Eventual Spread: Achieves a spread of approximately 4-8m.

Planting Time: Can be planted at any time of year.
Soil Type: Prefers any fertile, well-drained soil. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy, mix in plenty of organic matter to improve drainage.
Spacing: Plant Wisterias 3m apart at the base of a structure. Train them so they do not become too crowded and have adequate access to light and air flow.
Watering: Water regularly when first planted, especially during hot, dry weather. Once established (after a couple of years), it will need very little watering.
Feeding: Feed every spring with a well-balanced fertiliser such as Growmore or Fish Meal.
Pruning: Prune twice a year. In late summer (July/August), cut back the new whippy growth to five buds from the woody stem. In late winter (January/February), find where you made the summer cuts and cut back by a further 2-3 buds to promote flowering.
Pest & Disease: Wisterias are generally not bothered by pests or disease. Aphids, Scale Insects, Powdery Mildews, and Honey Fungus can affect the plant but the problems are usually not serious.
