Position: Plant in full sun or partial shade.
Soil: Thrives in any well-drained soil.
Spacing: Plant at a density of 5 plants per square metre. For a dense hedge, plant in a staggered double row. Space the larger deciduous plants approximately 1m apart and fill in around them with the privet.
Watering: Water thoroughly after planting. The hedge will become drought-resistant once fully established.
Pruning: For a formal hedge, prune the central leader of the deciduous trees once they reach your desired height to encourage bushy side growth. For a more natural look, allow them to grow on.
