Planting: Plant from March to May in a spot with full sun or partial shade. Fargesia rufa is a clumping bamboo, not a running type, making it easy to manage in beds, borders, or a large container.
Soil: Prefers fertile soil that drains well but stays moist. It will tolerate most conditions as long as the soil is not waterlogged or extremely dry.
Care: Water regularly after planting and during extended dry periods. This is a resilient and easy-to-grow bamboo with good pest and disease resistance, though you should watch out for slugs.
