Watering: Water well after planting. Once established, water during prolonged dry periods in summer.
Feeding: Apply a general-purpose fertiliser in spring or summer. A mulch of well-rotted manure or compost can also be applied around the plant, avoiding the crown.
Pruning: Allow foliage to die back in autumn, then cut away old leaves. Remove any flower stalks that appear as this can weaken the plant.
Pests & Diseases: Generally disease-free. Avoid crown rot by not overwatering. Protect young plants from slugs and snails.
