Plant in a sunny, sheltered position to protect blossoms from late frosts and to help the fruit ripen fully.
Requires fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Incorporate plenty of well-rotted organic matter before planting.
Water regularly and thoroughly, especially during the first year after planting and in prolonged dry spells.
Apply a balanced general-purpose fertiliser in early spring to encourage healthy growth and good fruit production.
Prune stone fruit trees in summer after fruiting has finished to minimise the risk of Silver Leaf disease. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain an open, healthy framework.
