Position: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Moist, well-drained loam soil
Hardiness: Fully hardy (H5: -15 to -10°C)

Pest & Disease: Excellent resistance; protect young shoots from slugs.

Planting Time: March, April, May.
Planting: Plant in a sunny, sheltered location. Space plants 2.5m apart to allow for spreading.
Watering: Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil moist until established (approx. 1 year). Mature plants rarely need extra watering.
Feeding: Feed annually. Mix well-rotted manure into the soil when planting and apply a mulch each year. A handful of chicken manure pellets in spring and summer is also beneficial.
Pruning: In spring, remove any weak, dead, or spindly stems. Lower leaves can be removed to showcase the golden canes. Trim to shape as needed.
