Pollination: Pollination Group 3. This variety is self-fertile but will produce a much better crop if a pollination partner is nearby. Plums, damsons, gages and mirabelles can all pollinate each other. Trees in pollination groups 2, 3, or 4 will be suitable partners.

Planting Time: Can be planted year-round.
Position: Plant in full sun for the best crops.
Soil: Prefers well-drained, loamy soils. Will tolerate less than perfect conditions but may struggle in poorly draining soil.
Hardiness: Fully hardy in the UK, but flowers may require some protection from very late frosts as this can reduce the fruit yield for that year.
Watering: Water in thoroughly when planting. For the first few months, water every other day, reducing to twice a week until autumn. Once established, only water during prolonged dry spells. It is better to water heavily and less frequently than little and often.
Feeding: This is not a hungry plant and does not require regular feeding.
Pruning: Some structural pruning should be done each winter to ensure your tree maintains a productive shape, which can improve yields and prevent disease.
Pest & Disease: Shows good resistance. Aphids and caterpillars can be washed away with soapy water. Use netting or bird scarers to protect fruit from birds. Pruning to improve airflow helps reduce the risk of bacterial canker.
