Position: Full sun to partial shade
Soil Type: Thrives in moist, well-drained loamy soil which won't get waterlogged.
Hardiness: H4 - Hardy through most of the UK (-10 to -5°C).
Habit: Stems grow straight upright, spreading by producing new shoots.
Pest & Disease Resistance: Generally disease free. Protect young stems from slugs and snails.
Pruning: In spring, remove any weak, dead, damaged or spindly stems. Cut out flowering shoots promptly. Trim to shape as needed.

Spacing: Plant 4m apart to allow for spreading.
Watering: Water thoroughly at planting and keep moist until established (approx. 1 year). Once established, it shouldn't need additional watering.
Feeding: Mix well-rotted manure into the soil when planting. Apply an annual mulch of manure or compost. A handful of chicken manure pellets can be added in spring and summer.
