Habit: Climbing. Wisteria is a very vigorous deciduous, woody climber which can be trained up an arch, wall or tree, or over a porch or pergola.

Planting Time: Can be planted at any time of year.
Position: Plant in full sun to partial shade for the best results.
Soil: Thrives in any fertile, well-drained soil. If your soil is heavy clay, improve drainage by mixing in organic matter.
Pruning: Prune twice a year to control growth and encourage flowering. In late summer (July/August), cut back the current season's whippy shoots to five or six leaves. In late winter (January/February), cut back the same shoots to two or three buds.
Pest & Disease: Generally good resistance to pests and diseases.
