- Species: Peach
- Features: Easy to grow, Self fertile
- Flowering: March, April, May
- Harvest: June, July, August
- Planting: March, April, May, June, July, August
- Position: Full sun
- Eventual Spread: 4m
- Habit: Bushy
- Hardiness: Hardy
- Pest & Disease Resistance: Good pest and disease resistance
- Soil Type: Any well drained, fertile soil
- Pruning: Some structural pruning required
- Tasting Notes: Sweet and honey flavoured
- Uses: Eating, cooking, preserves
- Planting: Plant your peach tree from March to August. It will tolerate less than perfect conditions but prefers well drained, loamy soils. If your soil is heavy or sandy, mix in some perlite or fine horticultural grit when planting to improve drainage.
- Position: For best results, plant in full sun, ideally in a border near a south or west-facing wall, in a conservatory or greenhouse, or as a standalone tree in warmer regions.
- Watering: Water in thoroughly when planting. For the first few months, water every other day, then reduce to twice a week until autumn. In the second year, it should have an established root system and will only need watering in dry spells. It is better to water heavily and less frequently than little and often.
- Hardiness: This tree is hardy but may require some protection from very late frosts as this can damage the flowers and reduce the fruit yield for that year.
- Pollination: This variety is self-fertile and doesn't require a pollination partner. However, crops may be improved if another peach tree is nearby.
- Pruning: Some pruning should be done each winter to ensure your peach tree maintains a productive, open shape. This improves yields and helps prevent disease.
- Pest & Disease: This tree shows some resistance to pests and diseases. It does not have full resistance to peach leaf curl, so protect your tree through the winter. Aphids and caterpillars can be washed away with soapy water. Reduce the risk of bacterial canker by pruning to improve airflow.
- Harvesting: You may see your first peaches after 2 years, but you should not expect to see substantial crops for another 2-3 years after that. Harvest from June to August.
