Soil Type: Adapts to clay, loam, and sandy soil. Prefers moist, well-drained conditions but not chalk.
Wildlife: A benefactor to local wildlife
Pest & Disease: May need protection from caterpillars, leaf-mining moths and bullfinches. Can be affected by silver leaf, bacterial canker and blossom wilt.
Pruning: Pruning in mid-summer may be required if affected by silver leaf.

Planting Time: Can be planted from March to November.
Feeding: After planting, add fertiliser and cover with mulch. Feed annually with a slow-release fertiliser to maintain growth and encourage blooms.
Watering: Water at least once a month for the first couple of months after planting. Afterwards, keep the soil moist but well-drained.
