- Recognised by the RHS as a 'Plant for Pollinators', it's a superb choice for attracting bees to your garden.
- Versatile and easy to grow against a wall, on a trellis, or in a large patio pot.
- Species: Raspberry
- Features: Perfect for pollinators, RHS Award of Garden Merit, Fully hardy, Heavy cropper, Self fertile, Thornless
- Harvest Time: June, July
- Planting Time: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
- Position: Full sun
- Habit: Columnar, upright
- Location: Beds & borders, Fence, Pots, Trellis, Wall
- Eventual Spread: 25-50cm
- Hardiness: Fully hardy (H6, to -20°C)
- Soil Type: Any moist, well-drained soil (neutral to acidic preferred)
- Pruning: Prune after the year's harvest
- Uses: Eating fresh, desserts and baking
- Planting: Plant canes 40-50cm apart. Grow against a wall with a wire trellis, use a standalone trellis, or plant in a large pot (minimum 10L). This variety prefers moist, well-drained soil; if your soil is heavy, enrich it with organic matter.
- Watering: Water regularly throughout the growing season, especially during hot, dry spells. Container-grown plants require more frequent watering. Aim water at the base of the plant to keep foliage and fruit dry.
- Feeding: Apply a high-potassium fertiliser each spring to promote healthy growth and a good crop.
- Pruning: This is a floricane (summer-fruiting) variety. Once fruiting has finished for the year, cut the older, fruited canes down to ground level. Tie in the six or seven most vigorous new canes to your support; these will fruit next summer.
- Harvesting: As a floricane variety, it fruits on second-year canes, so you can expect your first crop in the second summer after planting.
