Watering: Water well when newly planted. Continue to water establishing plants during dry spells for at least a year.
Feeding: This is a low-maintenance plant that gets its nutrients from the soil, so feeding is not required.
Pruning: For the brightest stems, prune hard in late winter to early spring (February/March), before new buds appear. In the first year, do not prune. After that, cut stems down to a woody base within 10cm (4") of the ground each year. Feed and water well after pruning to encourage bright new shoots.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free, but can occasionally suffer from cornus anthracnose.
