Soil: Prefers a moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. If planting in a container, use an ericaceous or John Innes No.3 compost.
Watering: Water regularly during the first few years and in dry spells. Ensure the soil doesn't dry out completely, especially for container-grown plants.
Pruning: Requires very little pruning. If needed, remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches during the dormant season (November to January) to prevent sap bleeding.
