- Soil Type: Prefers fertile well draining soil, can also tolerate clay soil but you will need to take some steps to improve drainage in the winter.

- Uses: Eating, cooking
- Planting Time: January, February, March, September, October, November, December
- Pollination: These apple trees need pollination partners and will cross pollinate each other to produce large crops.
- Spacing: Please see individual product pages for spacing.
- Watering: Water in thoroughly when planting. For bare root trees, you won't need to water regularly, only in dry spells when needed. You should be able to tell because the leaves will start to wilt and droop. When watering a tree it is important to give a good soaking. It is better to water heavily and less frequently than little and often as this encourages the roots to grow down into the ground.
- Feeding: No feeding needed.
- Pruning: Some pruning should be done each winter to ensure that your fruit tree maintains a productive shape. This can improve yields and prevent disease.
Product Specifications
- Height on Arrival: 130-150cm inc. roots
- Rootstock: M26 rootstock (grows up to 3m)
- Eventual Height: Trees in this collection reach a compact height of approx 4m
- Supplied As: These trees are supplied as “bare roots” meaning that the roots of the trees are established below the ground but not actively growing (dormant) between November and March. As bare roots are stored without any soil or pot, they will easily settle themselves when in contact with soil in your garden. Don't worry if your tree is not showing any sign of growth above the ground come April, as it's still in the dormant phase and will soon explode into life.
- Time to First Crop: You may see your first fruit after the first year but you should not expect to see substantial crops for another 2-3 years after that.
