Soil: Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid areas prone to frost and soils that have previously grown potatoes, chrysanthemums, or tomatoes because they are all prone to the disease verticillium wilt.
Pruning: If your Strawberry plant is planted in late summer, remove the flowers in the first year to encourage fruiting next year. After harvesting, remove old leaves but leave the crown and new leaves untouched to allow sunlight into the centre of your plant.
