Pruning: Requires pruning in autumn/winter. Blackberries fruit on 2-year-old wood (last year's growth). To ensure good crops, preserve the new shoots each year and prune away the canes which have fruited that summer. Aim to achieve a balance of new growth and fruiting wood each year.
Pest & Disease: Bred for excellent disease resistance. Your biggest problem will be local wildlife wanting to eat the delicious berries. Grow in a polytunnel or use a fruit net to keep birds off.
