Habit: An upright tree with a bushy habit
Hardiness: Fully Hardy (H6). Native to the UK and will not be damaged by winter.
Soil Type: Prefers well drained, acidic soils but is happy in most soil types.
Pest & Disease: High disease resistance. Prone to fire blight in warm areas; prune away affected branches if this occurs.

Spacing: Plant 2.5m apart to allow for spreading, unless using as a hedge.
Pruning: Prune in winter or early spring. Dead wood can be removed at any time of year.
Watering: Watering is only needed in long droughts. You can also water thoroughly during spring to ensure rapid growth during summer months.
Feeding: After planting, add fertiliser and cover with mulch. Feed annually with a slow-release fertiliser to maintain growth and encourage blooms.
