Hardiness: Fully Hardy (H6) - Native to the UK and will not be damaged by winter.
Soil Type: Happy in most soils, prefers well drained, acidic soils.

Spacing: Plant 2.5m apart to allow for spreading, unless using as a hedge.
Pruning: Prune in winter or early spring. Never prune during the growing season as sap will attract bugs and diseases. Dead wood can be removed at any time.
Watering: Water during dry spells. Watering is only essential during long droughts, but you can water thoroughly in spring to encourage rapid summer growth.
Feeding: Feed annually. After planting, add fertiliser and cover with mulch. Replace the mulch and feed with a slow-release fertiliser each year to maintain growth and encourage blooms.
Pest & Disease: High disease resistance. Not prone to many diseases in cold regions but can be prone to fire blight in warm areas. Prune away any affected branches immediately.
