- Species: Cherry, Pear, Plum
- Features: Disease resistant, Self fertile
- Harvest Time: July, August, September, October
- Planting Time: January, February, March, September, October, November, December
- Position: Full sun
- Hardiness: Fully hardy in the UK climate and will not need winter protection.
- Habit: Upright, bushy
- Eventual Spread: 4m
- Soil Type: Happy in most soils. Prefers fertile, well-draining soil but can tolerate clay if drainage is improved.
- Pest & Disease Resistance: Excellent pest and disease resistance.
- Pruning: Prune annually.
- Uses: Eating, cooking
- Pollination: Cherry and Plum are self-fertile. Pear is partially self-fertile, meaning it will produce a crop on its own but will produce more if another pear tree is nearby.
- Planting: These trees are supplied "bare root" while dormant (November to March). They will easily establish themselves when planted in your garden. Don't worry if your tree shows no growth above ground by April; it will soon explode into life. Please see individual product pages for specific spacing.
- Watering: Water in thoroughly when planting. Bare root trees only need watering in dry spells. For container-grown trees, water every other day for the first few months, then reduce to twice a week until autumn. It is better to water heavily and less frequently to encourage deep root growth.
- Feeding: No feeding is required.
- Pruning: Some pruning should be done each winter to ensure your fruit tree maintains a productive shape. This can improve yields and prevent disease.
