Typha minima | Dwarf cattail | Marginal Plant

• Marginal Plant - submerge slightly
• Plant in sun or partial shade in wet soil or water
• A bright and versatile accent plant
• Low maintenance and beneficial to wildlife

This delightful miniature cattail has slender, grass-like, blue-green leaves and typically grows only 1.5-2.5 feet (45-75cm) tall, making it exceptionally well-behaved.

It produces small, almost spherical to oval, dark brown seed heads (catkins) in summer, which are very ornamental and perfectly proportionate to the plant's diminutive size.

An excellent choice for adding the cattail look without the invasive tendencies of larger species. It is fully hardy, low maintenance, and ideal for providing vertical interest in small spaces.

Prefers full sun and shallow water (1-4 inches / 2-10cm deep) or consistently moist soil. Spreads slowly by rhizomes, making it easy to manage and suitable for tub gardens and pond edges.
