Habit: Espalier trees consist of an upright, central leader with several uniform tiers of horizontal branches.
Hardiness: H6 - This espalier pear tree will survive temperatures down to -20°C.
Soil: Pear trees grow well in loamy soil with good drainage. If your soil isn't very fertile - or its drainage is poor - then amend with some organic compost.
Uses: Perfect for eating fresh, poaching, baking, and juicing.
Self-fertile: Variety dependent.

Planting Time: Can be planted year-round.
Pruning: Prune twice annually. In winter, prune the central leader to just above the next wire tier to encourage new horizontal growth.
