Description
  • Produces heavy crops of classic English cooking apples known for their tart flavor and fluffy texture when cooked.
  • Supplied as a dormant bare root tree, which promotes rapid root establishment and vigorous growth in spring.
  • Requires a sunny or partially shaded site with fertile, well-drained soil; as a triploid variety, it needs two distinct pollination partners in group 3 to set fruit.
  • Soak roots for two hours before planting; if growing in containers, select a heavy pot at least 50cm in diameter (minimum 40-50 litres) using a loam-based compost like John Innes No. 3, ensuring the tree is planted at the same depth as the soil mark on the stem.
  • Pre-trained as an espalier with horizontal lateral branches, designed to be supported flat against a wall, fence, or trellis system to maximize space.
