Corten Steel

Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, is a special alloy composed of iron, copper, chromium, and nickel. This combination results in an incredibly robust material that is resistant to the elements. Over time, corten steel undergoes an oxidation process, developing a distinctive rust-like patina. This patina acts as a protective layer, preventing further corrosion and ensuring the longevity of your planters.

Corten steel is ideal for metal planters, as it is thicker than traditional metals such as zinc, and gives your plants a rustic and stylish home. Our range includes corten steel troughs, tall troughs and cubes. Corten steel planters develop their rusted patina over about 6 months, and its living appearance makes it an exciting alternative to traditional steel planters.
