These cordon trees are versatile and can be grown as standalone specimens in pots or the ground, or traditionally at a 45° angle against a wall or fence.
Your trees have been expertly trained and require just one main prune each year to maintain their shape and productivity.
Summer Pruning (Late August): Cut back new shoots that are longer than 20cm. Prune them back to leave one leaf beyond the basal cluster of leaves.
Winter Pruning (when dormant): As the tree matures, you may need to thin out any fruiting spurs that have become overcrowded. Remove older, less productive spurs to encourage new growth.
