Soil: Will tolerate less than perfect conditions but prefers well-drained, loamy soils. If your soil is heavy or sandy, mix in some perlite or fine horticultural grit when planting to improve drainage.
Pruning: Prune annually. Never prune during the growing season as sap will attract bugs and diseases. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time of year.
Pests & Diseases: Generally has high disease resistance in cold regions but can be prone to fire blight in warmer areas; prune away affected branches if this occurs. Harmless lichen may grow on the bark. In rural areas, deer may eat the berries.

Before delivery, we will unclip the Air-Pot® and wrap the tree's rootball in hessian so that your tree can be transported safely and we can reuse the pot. You can also purchase the Air-Pot® seperately if you prefer and we will send the tree in the pot in which it was grown.
