- Pruning: Prune regularly. Some pruning should be done each winter to ensure that your apple tree maintains a productive shape. This can improve yields and prevent disease.
- Pest Management: To manage aphids, clear a 60cm radius at the base of the tree and keep weeds to a minimum. Introduce aphid predators to your garden using companion planting.
- Pollination: This tree is self-fertile and doesn't require a pollinating partner to produce fruit, but may produce better crops if one is nearby. In most built-up areas, it is likely a suitable tree will be close enough. In rural areas, consider planting another tree from pollination groups 2, 3, or 4 within a mile.
