Description
  • Fruit characteristics: Produces large, high-quality dessert apples with a crisp texture and a balance of honey-sweet and tart flavours; fruit is ready for harvest in October and stores well.
  • Compact habit: Grafted onto dwarfing rootstock to restrict vigour, making this tree ideal for small gardens, balconies, and patio displays without requiring heavy pruning.
  • Growing conditions: Thrives in a sunny, sheltered position which aids ripening; requires a pollination partner (another apple tree variety) nearby to produce a crop.
  • Container planting: Best planted in a heavy pot of at least 30-40 litres using a loam-based compost such as John Innes No. 3; ensure the container has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
  • Care instructions: Water consistently throughout the growing season, as container plants dry out quickly, and feed with a high-potash fertilizer in spring to support fruit development.
  • Training: Supplied as an established 3ft patio tree trained in a bush habit to promote branching and ensure fruit is grown at an accessible height.
