Originating from Serbia, this RHS Award of Garden Merit winner produces greenish-yellow, apple-shaped fruits with a rich, aromatic taste.
The fruit's flesh turns a beautiful rose pink when cooked, perfect for jams, jellies, and liqueurs.
A compact tree with oval leaves and lovely white to pale pink blossoms in spring.
Thrives in milder climates and performs best in a sheltered spot, ideally against a south-facing wall.
Harvest from September; fruits can be stored in a cool, dry place for up to three months. Allow them to mature for six weeks before use.
Your tree is expertly pruned before shipping to encourage a strong, bushy shape.

Planting: Plant trees 4m apart to allow for spreading. Prefers fertile, well-draining soil but can tolerate clay if you improve drainage by mixing in horticultural grit or perlite.
Watering: Water in thoroughly when planting. Water every other day for the first few months, then reduce to twice a week until autumn. In the second year, water only during dry spells. It is better to water heavily and less frequently to encourage deep root growth.
Feeding: No feeding is required as the tree will get all the nutrients it needs from the soil.
Pruning: Some structural pruning should be done each winter to maintain a productive shape, improve yields, and prevent disease.
Pest & Disease: Has excellent resistance to most problems. Good pruning will increase airflow and help prevent bacterial disease. Keep an eye out for fire blight and pear scab, which are rare.
